Authority Athletics has already predicted NHL individual end of season awards. Read that article here! Now, we predict which teams will win their divisions.
Central Division: Colorado Avalanche. It is going to be a tight 3 team race between the Avs, Jets, and Stars but I think the Avs come out with the division title. Either way, two of these teams playing in the first round of the playoffs is going to make for an exciting series.
Pacific Division: Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks have given themselves a pretty good cushion with their strong play in the first half of the season. I think their play will level out a bit, but they should be able to still take home the division crown. Look for the Edmonton Oilers to provide the biggest challenge.
Atlantic Division: Boston Bruins. The Bruins are currently tied with the Canucks for first place in the entire league. They are solid in all aspects of the game and should easily take home the division title. The Florida Panthers are the only club within striking distance of the division lead, but the Bruins should easily maintain their lead.
Metropolitan Division: Carolina Hurricanes. This one is a toss-up. I still don’t quite trust the Flyers, the Rangers have their own set of issues, and who knows what you are going to get with the Penguins. The Hurricanes in my opinion, are the most well-rounded team in the division and should take home the division title.
