The Baltimore Orioles are set to be true contenders this year. The Orioles won the AL East Title last season and expect to build upon their impressive campaign a year ago. The Orioles added to their pitching in the offseason with former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes. But make no mistake, the Orioles will go as far as their young stars will take them.

Adley Rutschman: Let’s start with the man behind the plate. The 26-year-old catcher is on his way to becoming a true superstar in the league. The switch hitter notched 20 home runs last year while driving in 80 RBI’s. Look for Rutschman to take another step – I’m predicting 25 home runs and 100 RBI’s minimum.
Gunnar Henderson: The power hitting Shortstop & 3rd baseman hit 28 home runs last season and drove in 82 RBI’s. What’s scary is Henderson is only 22 years old and is going to get even better. I wouldn’t be surprised if Henderson increased both his home run and RBI totals this season. I’m predicting 35 home runs and 100 RBI’s.
Ryan Mountcastle: I personally don’t think Mountcastle gets the credit he deserves. He is already a solid first baseman but has the tools needed to be great. Last season, Mountcastle hit .270 with 18 home runs and 68 RBI’s. At 27 years old, Mountcastle is entering the prime of his career. Look for 25 home runs and 80 RBI’s.
Jackson Holliday: Don’t forget that the top-rated prospect in all of baseball is also a member of the Baltimore Orioles organization. I fully expect 20-year-old Holliday to make the opening night roster. Regardless of which position he eventually plays; I think Holliday will have an immediate impact. I predict 20 Home Runs and 60 RBI’s for the rookie.
If these young stars have the seasons they are capable of, Orioles fans should have a lot to celebrate.
