The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the big game yesterday in a thrilling overtime victory and should now be officially considered a dynasty.
The game included a bit of everything; solid defense, critical fumbles, clutch conversations on 3rd and 4th down, and a blocked extra point. You name it – it probably happened yesterday. I had no skin in the game, but found it one of the most entertaining contests in recent memory.
Mahomes led the way with 333 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. He also added 66 yards rushing including a crucial run on 4th down late in the game. After a slow 1st half, Travis Kelce exploded in the 2nd half and ended with 9 catches for 93 yards. The Kansas City Chiefs defense was solid all game and prevented an explosive 49ers offense from making big plays. Harrison Butker was perfect on field goals going 4 for 4 including a 57-yard record breaking field goal.

This marks back-to-back championships for the Kansas City Chiefs and 3 championships in the last 5 years. That’s a dynasty, folks! The Chiefs get a lot of hatred in the media, mostly due to spouses of the players and the attention they receive. But it’s hard to argue the effectiveness of their overall program from ownership, to coaching, and finally the star players. Love him or hate him, Travis Kelce is the best modern day tight end and possibly the greatest in NFL history. Mahomes is truly special and may now be in discussion for one of the best quarterbacks of all time. And with Andy Reid at the helm, who knows how many more championships they will win!
