The defending Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights will face off against the Dallas Stars tonight in Dallas. Who will win the series? Let’s dive a little deeper…
The Stars might be the deepest team in the entire NHL. They have 4 lines who can put the puck in the net. Jake Oettinger has struggled at times this season, but he has been playing very well as of late. The team also brings a ton of playoff experience with the likes of Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, and Ryan Suter.
Vegas is getting healthy at just the right time. Tomas Hertl came back a few weeks ago and has not missed a beat while adjusting to the Vegas system. Captain Mark Stone was also cleared for full contact, and I would be shocked if he doesn’t play in Game 1. Did they take advantage of cap loopholes? That’s a whole different article!

The truth is these two teams are equally matched. They play a similar style to one another, and both have solid depth as mentioned above. I give Vegas an edge when it comes to star talent with the likes of Jack Eichel and Tomas Hertl. For that reason, I’m predicting that they win in what will be a very competitive series. My prediction is the Golden Knights over the Dallas Stars in 7 games.
