How bout them Cowboys!  The Cowboys haven’t had anything to really celebrate since the few years after those words were exclaimed by Jimmy Johnson.  Under the total authority of owner, president, and GM Jerry Jones the Cowboys have been America’s biggest disappointment.  Look, there’s no arguing that Jerry Jones is a cult of personality and has football IQ.  Heck, he was even teammates with Jimmy Johnson at the U of Arkansas together.

Money and being and former player does not translate into championship level management.  Jerry Jones is wearing too many hats and tries to wear the hats of those around him as well.  It’s no secret Jones likes to be in charge.

Cowboys fans – represent your team in good times and bad with the hat and beanie collection from Fanatics

As stated above, Jerry Jones is the total authority on decision making for the Cowboys working as the owner, the President, and the GM.  Sounds like a ton for one person to attempt to do well at.  I can only imagine the level of micro-management that would take place with a boss that feels he has to make every decision.

Jones, at 80 plus years of age, needs to enjoy his role as owner and choose a real GM.  A GM whose only focus is on winning, and not maintaining control.  This GM should be free to assemble a team for a coach that knows how to win and not just a “yes sir”.  If Jerry Jones can hire qualified people and then actually let them do their jobs, Cowboys fans might just have something to celebrate.

With the level of talent the Cowboy’s have seen currently and in the past from Tony Romo, Dak Prescott, Demarcus Ware, and many others, it is a big disappointment to not have seen the Cowboys perform better.
