The Denver Nuggets are the defending NBA Champions and are once again a top contender to take home the title this year. The team is led by a true superstar in Nikola Jokic. Jokic is a special player the league has not seen before. But don’t forget about Jamal Murray.
Murray is a superstar in his own right. I would argue that he is just as valuable to the Nuggets as Jokic is. As the point guard, Murray is in complete control of the game at all times. What else does he possess? A certain clutch factor that was demonstrated by two game winning shots in the first round series against the Los Angeles Lakers.

With all the stardom that surrounds Nikola Jokic (and rightfully so), Murray does not get the hype and praise he deserves as one of, if not the best, point guard in the league. This last season Murray was in the top 20 in points per game and in the top 10 in assists per game.
The truth is, the Nuggets are special not only because the Joker but because of the combination of Jokic and Murray. Without either of those players, the Nuggets don’t win the championship last season.
We can praise Nikola Jokic as often as we like, but we shouldn’t forget that there is another superstar on the club. Murray is a player that is building his own resume and with health and longevity will see his number hanging from the rafters and could eventually make the case for the Hall of Fame.
