The NFL free agency period has officially started and let’s just say that the Dallas Cowboys have been… quiet. Cowboys fans, me included, are left scratching our heads and hoping that there is more to come.

There are two noticeable names that the Cowboys have lost in free agency. Starting running back Tony Pollard signed with the Tennessee Titans officially ending his up and down tenure in Dallas. In addition, starting center Tyler Biadasz agreed to terms with the Washington Commanders. Improving the running game was already discussed by Authority Athletics as a need heading into the off season. It’s safe to say with the loss of Pollard and Biadasz that the Cowboys are going the opposite direction.

There were two running backs that were available early in free agency: Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley. Well, the Cowboys lost out on both. Henry, who would have been a great fit in Dallas, signed with the Baltimore Ravens. Saquon Barkley is also officially off the board after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. Cowboys fans – isn’t it tough watching every other team in your division get better while your team stands pat? With those two running backs off the board, I’m not sure where the Cowboys go from here in terms of the running game. There projected starter at the moment is Deuce Vaughn.

There was only one noticeable addition thus far in free agency. The Cowboys signed veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks from the Chargers. The 32-year-old had a good season last year with Los Angeles recording over 100 tackles and 3 sacks. This isn’t an insignificant move for the Cowboys, but it doesn’t quite have the splash fans are expecting.

It’s safe to say that the Dallas Cowboys are worse today than they were last season. As other teams in the division are adding and getting better, the Dallas Cowboys are heading in the wrong direction. This Cowboys fan is ready for another disappointing season!
