Here we go again Cowboys fans. Fans were once again hopeful that this year was the Cowboys year. Dallas responded with a pathetic first round performance. The Cowboys have won a whopping 4 playoff games in the last 25 years. Furthermore, they haven’t reached a conference final since their last Super Bowl victory. This is not America’s team anymore and something has to give. Authority Athletics recently posted that Jerry Jones needs to let go of some control and find a legitimate GM. Read that article here. But what else is wrong with the club?

Let’s start with coaching. Mike McCarthy needs to go. This year’s version of the Cowboys appeared destined for greatness. Instead, the Cowboys were dominated, and McCarthy was out-coached the entire game against the Packers. The Cowboys are now 1-4 in the playoffs under McCarthy and that record is unacceptable with the amount of talent on the team. The Cowboys took the 2nd most penalties of any team this year. That sounds like an accountability problem to me. The team is simply undisciplined and that starts with coaching.

Now is the time to make the change too. There are several quality replacements available in the open market. Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel, and Pete Carroll to name a few. Dan Quinn is another option if they prefer to look internally. Mike Tomlin and Nick Sirianni could possibly be added to the list in the near future.

The Cowboys need to shake things up and that starts with the head coach.
