Authority Athletics continues it’s series on the top MLB rookie cards to buy right now. To recap, we already looked at Julio Rodriguez, Gunnar Henderson, and Zach Neto. This time we turn our attention to Jarred Kelenic!
Let us not forget that Kelenic was once the top-rated prospect in all of baseball. Unfortunately, he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations thus far in his career. Last season with the Seattle Mariners the outfielder hit .256 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI’s.
The Mariners made a shocking move in the offseason by dealing Kelenic to the Atlanta Braves. In my opinion, the Mariners gave up on him way too soon. But the change in scenery should give Kelenic every opportunity to fully reach his potential. This is exactly why you should stock up on his rookie cards now. It might not be this upcoming season, but I predict Kelenic becomes a future all-star and as a result his rookie cards will begin to increase in price.
