Yesterday, Authority Athletics discussed which teams will win each division.  Read that article here! Now, we turn our attention to end of season team awards including who we think will win the Stanley Cup.

Presidents Trophy: Boston Bruins.  The Bruins are currently tied with the Canucks for the league lead in points.  I think they maintain their lead down the stretch but look for the Colorado Avalanche to challenge them for the president’s trophy.

Prince of Wales Trophy (Eastern Conference Champions): Florida Panthers.  This one is close!  There are so many good teams coming out of the East.  Florida is a balanced team and has valuable playoff experience from their deep run last season.  Look for them to come out of the east although the Bruins might have something to say about that.

Clarence S Campbell Bowl (Western Conference Champions):  Colorado Avalanche.  The west is not nearly as deep as the east, but there are still several high-quality teams.  One could make the case for the Golden Knights, Stars, or Jets, but I am taking the Avalanche to come out of the west.

Stanley Cup: Colorado Avalanche.  My prediction: The Avalanche beat the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals.  If they stay healthy, and get even decent goaltending, the Avalanche are simply too deep led by top 5 players Nathan Mackinnon and Cale Makar.

Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup?
